This is one of the best, possibly the best, in the series and and one of the main reasons was that there was no instant sniff - you're my mate, let's have sex. Most of the other books in the series had absolutely no relationship development because the instant the wolf smelled their mate they couldn't stay away from their mate and were in love in a day. I'm fine with insta love but not quite that instant -- in this book a relationship developed before they knew they were mates. There are certainly better shifter stories out there with more substance and character development (Lynn Tyler, Sandrine Gasq-Dion, SA Welsh-Blood Moon Pack and Eli Easton's new book are some that come to mind off the top of my head), but this is good for light, escapist reading and has a lot more length and story development than a lot of the shifter books I've read from Siren Publishing.
